Beer Harvest 2023 (IX. year)
Over twenty thousand visitors enjoyed the traditional festival of golden beverage called Pivobraní, which took place on Saturday 24th June on Masaryk Square in Nový Jičín. They could taste beers and beer specials brewed for them by brewers from Czech and foreign microbreweries. The entertainment offer was equally varied, including games, competitions and concerts by well-known bands. The reward for all those who participated in the preparation of this year's festival - representatives of microbreweries, gastro vendors, performers and organizers - was the visible satisfaction of visitors across generations.
The only blemish on a very successful event was the disruption of emergency bus services to neighbouring towns and villages after the evening concerts. "The emergency public transport services provided by the Town Hall went off without a hitch. However, two of the five suburban services were out. Unfortunately, these were the buses that were the busiest in the direction of Kopřivnice and Příbor," says Radka Bobková, head of the Visitor Centre.
The city agreed on the inclusion of the connections in the timetables with the company KODIS (Coordinator of the Ostrava Integrated Transport System) in advance. However, due to an error of the transport company Z-Group bus, two connections were not dispatched. "The visitor centre - although it was not its responsibility - immediately dealt with the situation. We turned to other carriers and got at least a few cars to take the passengers where they needed to go," Bobková informs, adding that she will demand a public apology and a remedy so that such a failure does not happen again and damage the reputation of the Pivobraní festival.
